Describe your business.

Feel Good Movement is a socially responsible clothing brand founded on the basis of positive thinking. It all started with the idea that people perform better at everything they do when they have a positive attitude. More than just a state of mind, positive thinking represents a lifestyle. And it is our core belief that we can ignite real social change by spreading a positive message through fashionable clothes and setting an ethical standard for other businesses to follow. We provide more than just a cool style, but also a cool attitude toward human progress.

Who are your customers?

Our customer base is everyone.

Our main customer following is people who take interest in socially responsible companies. There is a large group of people who take pride in knowing that with every purchase, one shirt is donated to help the less fortunate.

What makes your business unique?

For each clothing item that is purchased, we donate a comparable clothing item to charitable organizations that support disaster relief, disability assistance or poverty care. In addition, we offer Feel Good Wristbands to support particular foundations, for which 100 percent of the net proceeds are donated.

We require all of our manufacturers to have an established social responsibility program that addresses fair treatment of their employees. Whenever possible, we produce in the United States in order to guarantee the quality of both our clothing and the working conditions surrounding the people who make them.

What is your business philosophy?

Spread the power of positivity by helping those in need and use responsible business practices to provide quality, comfortable, fashionable clothing that makes people feel good.

What is the most important part of your job?

Always remembering the people we are helping. There are many people who are less fortunate, but everybody deserves to have clothing. It feels amazing to be able to help them.

What is the hardest part about doing business in Las Vegas?

It is hard to get clothing stores to want our clothing with all of the larger name brand companies in the area.

What is the best part about doing business in Las Vegas?

There are so many people here on vacation, it helps spread the word about the Feel Good Movement to many new places.

What obstacles has your business overcome?

We have been making sales. When we first launched, we were told there was no way we would last as a company. They said that with the recession, people don’t care about helping the less fortunate.

We have found it is actually the complete opposite. People realize that times are hard for everyone, and it feels good to help the less fortunate.

How can Nevada improve its business climate?

By supporting more local companies. Money spent with local companies helps more than money spent with companies that aren’t local.

What have you learned from the recession?

That even though times are hard on everyone, people still like to support socially responsible companies. People like to know that with their purchase, they’re also helping the less fortunate.
