IGT's Ghostbusters slot machine

Just in time for Halloween, MGM Resorts International is debuting a new slot machine: Ghostbusters.

Based on the blockbuster ‘80s movie, the digital reel slot machine will feature signature characters such as parapsychologists Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), Slimer (an Ectoplasm ghost) and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Bonus rounds will challenge customers to find ghosts and use proton shots to blow up a ballroom. Free games will be awarded when marshmallows fall from the sky, stick to symbols and turn them wild.

“The memorable characters, a catchy song and many unforgettable scenes have made Ghostbusters a pop culture mainstay,” Eric Tom, executive vice president of International Game Technology, said in a statement.

IGT, which developed the slot, unveiled the game Monday. It will appear only in MGM properties for the first month because of an exclusive deal MGM inked with IGT.
