A Nike Outlet is coming to the Henderson area. The store is scheduled to open Nov. 18 at Silverado Ranch Plaza, 9851 S. Eastern Ave., near St. Rose Parkway.
The shoes, clothing and athletic gear store is taking over a 15,000-square foot space previously occupied by Nordstrom Rack. Nordstrom moved in August to a retail plaza on Stephanie Street and Sunset Road.
“We knew ahead of time they were going to be moving,” said Hunter Martin, property manager for the Silverado Ranch Plaza, which is owned by the Seligman Group. “They couldn’t stay because they needed more square footage. We couldn’t accommodate them, but it wasn’t long before Nike jumped right in.”
The Nike outpost will sell goods at discounted prices. The valley has two other Nike Outlets, located at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets on the Strip and downtown.
Nike signed a five-year lease with the Seligman Group, with three five-year renewal options. Nordstrom Rack had been in the plaza 12 years.
The center’s other tenants include Target, Marshall’s and Famous Footwear. The plaza boasts a 90 percent occupancy rate, a healthy showing in this down economy.
“It’s a strong center,” Martin said. “We have a very high level of clientele. Right now, we’re treading water. We’re not swimming, but we’re not sinking.”
