Exotic-car operation stays on track at speedway

A company that allows drivers to test their skills in some of the world’s most expensive sports cars is staying on track in Las Vegas.

Exotics Racing and the Las Vegas Motor Speedway announced today that they had reached a multiyear agreement to maintain the company’s operations at the speedway, where it has been in business since 2009. The company, founded in Europe during 2004, offers drivers a chance to hit the racetrack in cars from such manufacturers as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin.

“We have had more than 30,000 drivers come through in the two years we have been here, so we are really excited to know that we will be here for many years to come,” said David Perisset, president of Exotics Racing, in a news release.

The company launched its Las Vegas site with six cars and has since expanded to 20. It provides packages that include classroom instruction, familiarization laps and ride-along instruction, with prices starting at $199 for five-lap sessions. Anyone 18 or older with a valid driver’s license is eligible to take part, the company said, and there are no extra fees for insurance.

In a release, speedway President Chris Powell called Exotics Racing “one of our best partners.”

“They’ve certainly opened up the speedway to a new customer, and we look forward to a long relationship,” Powell said.

Details of the contract weren’t immediately made available.
