Forbes lists Las Vegas company as one of America’s most promising

InsureMonkey, a Las Vegas firm, is the lone Nevada company to appear on the new Forbes magazine list of “America’s Most Promising Companies.”

InsureMonkey is ranked at No. 81 on the list of 100 companies. Forbes said the firm has a dozen employees and annual revenue of about $250,000.

“Launched in 2009, the company makes software that eases shopping for health insurance online. Generates revenue through licensing fees and partnership agreements with insurance companies and state governments. Has raised nearly $3 million in private capital,” Forbes commented in this week’s report.

InsureMonkey, in its own promotional material, says it addresses “an important consumer and business pain-point in a particularly innovative way.”

“Being named as one of America’s Top 100 Most Promising Companies is a real honor and recognizes the great products and services created by our people. As it turns out, making something easy is hard work,” founder and CEO Alex Rivlin said in a statement.

Topping the new Forbes list is Denver-based Smashburger, one of seven companies from Colorado on the list.
