Struggling Las Vegas contractor continues service work

Interstate Plumbing & Air Conditioning LLC of Las Vegas clarified Monday that not all of its workers were laid off last week, as it initially said.

The company said Monday its service business is fully functional and taking orders.

“Following our layoff last week in our construction sector, our 30 service department employees remain and we are continuing to accept new orders. Our annual service volume approached 9,000 jobs,” Interstate said in a statement.

The company said it is finishing a few commercial projects that are near completion, but is not taking on any new commercial projects.

The company clarified that last week it laid off 265 of its 335 employees as a result of the recession. G2 Capital Advisors is assisting the company with the restructuring process.
