New bicycles for taxi officers’ patrol group

A Nevada Taxicab Authority pilot program for a small bicycle patrol has resulted in the acquisition of four new bikes for the small state agency.

The bicycles provide Taxicab Authority officers easy mobility at convention centers and at special events, increasing the visibility of the small patrol group.

A pilot program with used bicycles was presented to Taxicab Authority Administrator Charles Harvey last year and he approved the acquisition of the new bicycles, which cost a total of $5,000.

In the accompanying video, two-year Taxicab Authority officer LaMons Walker gives a tour of the new bicycle, including a demonstration of its lighting system and siren.
