Nevada State Bank announced the winners of its Beautiful Nevada Essay Contest for public school students. Winning students received an iPad Mini and their schools each received $5,000. The winning Southern Nevada essays were written by: Fiona Mobley, fifth grade, Manse Elementary School, Pahrump; Perri McGillivray, seventh grade, Cadwallader Middle School, Las Vegas; and Skye Maynard, 12th grade, Foothill High School, Henderson. The essay contest — open to all Nevada public school students from kindergarten to 12th grade — asked entrants to answer the question, “What makes Nevada beautiful to you?”
