Nevada Donor Network appointed Dr. Harrison Scott Pollinger multi-organ abdominal transplant surgeon. Pollinger brings several decades of experience in organ donation and transplant surgery to his new position, including more than 17 years of experience in leading one of the country’s largest transplant centers. Prior to joining Nevada Donor Network, Pollinger served as program director, surgical director of liver transplant and co-chairman of the Transplant Clinical Committee at Piedmont Transplant Institute in Atlanta.
After a competitive public bidding process, Aramark (the incumbent provider) was awarded the UNLV Dining Services Contract. Construction projects will begin immediately, with the Taco Bell location in the Student Union transitioning to a Qdoba. Other changes will be a Panera Express coming to campus, as well as sushi being offered in the Dining Commons.
Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas welcomed Zach WalkerLieb to its board of directors. He will assist the organization with establishing identity and direction, ensuring necessary resources, providing oversight and reviewing board operations. WalkerLieb is the managing partner of Keller Williams Las Vegas and is a board member of Keystone Corporation, a small-business PAC; a member of the legislative committee and political advisory committee for the Nevada Association of Realtors; chair of Keystone Young Professionals; and a founding member of Focus 702.
The Commission on Construction Education welcomed the appointments of Bryce Clutts and Sean Stewart by Gov. Joe Lombardo. Clutts, president, CEO and partner of Metcalf Builders Inc., is a general contractor in Carson City with nearly 30 years of construction experience. Stewart, owner of M Con Inc., previously served as CEO for the Nevada Contractors Association. The Commission on Construction Education reviews programs of education that relate to building construction and distributes grants from the Construction Education Account for qualified programs. Its mission is to improve the quality and integrity of the construction industry by awarding grants to organizations with innovative, creative and cost-effective educational programs that will help attract and retain a highly qualified workforce.
NAIOP Southern Nevada named Angela Hammond to the newly created position of government affairs coordinator. She will perform a variety of tasks on behalf of NAIOP Southern Nevada’s Government Affairs Committee to support the organization’s advocacy efforts for its members. Prior to joining NAIOP Southern Nevada, Hammond was the university’s biology laboratory coordinator.
