Notes assembled from the streets of VegasVille:

• Three of the great local entertainers in Las Vegas are making the news. Frankie Moreno, who has been ducking into Rush Lounge at Golden Nugget and Garfield’s on West Sahara Avenue on select weekends with his fiery backing band, is moving to The Lounge at the Palms. He starts there 10 p.m. Aug. 2 and will perform each Tuesday at that time. Tickets are $7 (Moreno has been playing free of charge to this point).

Moreno has been working on a new release with Sony Records for this fall and has caught the attention of Simon Cowell, who has made plans to roll Moreno out on tour as an opening act for Michael Buble this year, and also to feature him as a guest performer on the new U.S. version of “X Factor.”

Another noteworthy Franky, Franky Perez, is expanding his presence with Station Casinos, where he has been performing Saturday nights at 11 o’clock at Rocks Lounge at Red Rock Resort. Beginning Aug. 12, the rowdy singer-songwriter will perform Fridays at Ovation at Green Valley Ranch. He also has a standing gig Sundays at The Lounge at the Palms.

Also at Ovation, Brody Dolyniuk is resurrecting his one-man show, “Brody’s World,” on Aug. 19. Dolyniuk left the classic rock band he founded, Yellow Brick Road, in May to focus on his one-man show and other outside projects, particularly “The Music of Queen,” the retro rock production of Windborne Music, where Dolyniuk sings the greatest hits of that classic rock band.

• “Vegas! The Show” at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood celebrates its first anniversary Aug. 4, and there have been a bevy of changes to the show since it opened last summer. Some of them, thanks to principal dancer Tara Palsha, are nakedly obvious. Indeed, there is a scene in the show where Palsha is onstage nude. Her back is to the audience, but it’s a nude moment and a new twist to the production.

Also noteworthy: An ode-to-Wayne Newton take on “Danke Shoen” is back in the fold, which is necessary to fill out any show sampling the history of entertainment in Las Vegas.

• One of my favorite Las Vegans in or out of entertainment, Cork Proctor, turned 79 on Friday. He called to chat that afternoon. He doesn’t have any gigs booked, saying that even the big rooms are paying terribly. He is tiring of hearing club managers say he should take less money to “make a solid career move.”

“I am 79 years old,” said Proctor, who still holds the veracity of someone 40 years younger. “There are no more solid career moves for me.” In any case, Happy Birthday, C.P. You’re one of the greats.
