Sheldon Adelson wants the world to know his stance on Internet gaming.

That’s why the casino king’s Las Vegas Sands Corp. has launched a website describing his disdain for the practice. StopInternetGambling.com features a video that starts with an ominous quote: “In the history of bad ideas, this had to be one of the worst …”

The site urges state lawmakers to make Internet gaming illegal, calling it a threat to society.

“Simply put,” the site reads, “the expansion of gambling to the Internet is a societal train wreck waiting to happen.”

The launch follows the heels of a recent column published on Forbes.com and authored by Adelson, who calls Internet gaming “fool’s gold.”
