A company developing a casino party train from Los Angeles to Las Vegas will launch a travel booking operation next month to sell tickets.
Officials with Las Vegas Railway Express said they would roll out X Train Vacations to book travel on the Vegas X Train, scheduled to begin operations next year, and for Casino Fun Trains, which will offer rail service to other casino cities.
Routes under consideration include Sacramento, Calif., to Reno; Houston to New Orleans; and Kansas City to St. Louis, the company said.
X Train officials have said they would begin five-hour party train trips from Los Angeles to Las Vegas next year on existing Union Pacific tracks with plans to build a station at the Plaza in downtown Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Railway Express officials say they have negotiated track usage with Union Pacific and are reconditioning rail cars to provide a party atmosphere for travelers from Southern California to Las Vegas.
