Benjamin J. Comin has joined Hutchison & Steffen as an associate attorney in the corporate and commercial law department. He will practice corporate, commercial, real estate and technology law. Comin received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University and his Juris Doctor from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
Wendy Starr has joined the interior design team at Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto Architects, working on projects including Ameristar Lake Charles and Zappos.com’s Photo and Video Studio. Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto also is working with TEPA/Komada to design portal signs for the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Other projects include the Black Rock NCA Facility and the Ely Seed Warehouse.
Adam Greenbaum has joined the Las Vegas Conventions and Visitors Authority as a digital marketing analyst. He is responsible for digital data analysis for the lasvegas.com family of websites. He previously was the social media and digital data specialist at MassMedia Corporate Communications in Henderson.
Nevada State College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its recently renovated library named for Marydean Martin. An original member of the Nevada State College Foundation, Martin and her husband, Charles Silvestri, are longtime supporters of the college and its library.
Gary Ackerman and Tony Bonnici have joined the board of directors at Nevada Children’s Medical Center Foundation. Ackerman owns Gaudin Motor Company, and Bonnici is vice president and general manager of Lotus Broadcasting.
Jeff Grace, president and CEO of NetEffect, a Las Vegas computer and information technology support and consulting company, was appointed to the board of trustees for the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce. Grace has been a member of the chamber since 2004 and serves on the chamber’s Business Council.
The Destination Services Association, a nonprofit state tourism group, added four new members: Judy DiPietro, owner and industry consultant for Hotel Help For You!; Jill Glantz, director of sales for Rebel Party Rentals; Monica Maciel, owner of Talent Concepts Inc.; and Ava Bahnam Wideen, marketing manager for CSI: The Experience at the MGM Grand.
Zachary Redman, an attorney in the Las Vegas office of Snell & Wilmer, was appointed to the executive committee of the Business Law Section of the Nevada State Bar. It aims to enhance the role and skills of business law attorneys.
Justin Cochran, an attorney in the Las Vegas office of Snell & Wilmer, was accepted into the Federal Defense Mentor Program chaired by U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy Leen. The program was developed to introduce lawyers to federal criminal practice and train them for the Criminal Justice Act Panel. Participants are paired with mentors, who are experienced federal criminal lawyers and members of the CJA Panell.
Jason Shkorupa has been named president and Kelley Jones chairman of the board for the Epicurean Charitable Foundation of Las Vegas. Shkorupa has more than 20 years experience as an executive chef and director of food and beverage.
Gabrielle McGhie was hired as a relationship manager for the Twain branch of City National Bank. McGhie previously worked as a sales consultant for Paychex Inc. in Reno.
Jennifer Bradley, Cynthia De La Torre and Chelsie Mollaun have been hired as account executives at BRAINtrust Marketing and Communications, a Las Vegas advertising, marketing and communications agency.
Andrea Lautner was named director of membership services for the Las Vegas chapter of the Associated General Contractors and the Nevada Contractors Association. She will manage membership relations, new member recruitment and retention and data.
