Bank of Nevada and the Nevada Small Business Development Center have teamed up to offer “NxLeveLTM for Micro Entrepreneurs,” a 15-week, 45-hour course for entrepreneurs and small-business owners. The three-hour sessions on goal setting, developing business strategies, financial accountability and other management techniques are taught by certified instructors. Classes are held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the Urban League Chamber Business Development Center’s training room.
New Vista has broken ground in northwest Las Vegas on a medical clinic and home for intellectually challenged people. The medical clinic will be the first in Nevada specifically designed for that cause. New Vista is partnering with Touro University on the project, which will be located on 15 acres of donated land at 7875 N. Rainbow Blvd.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a $126,421 grant to the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection for a clean diesel project in Clark County. The money will be used to replace a Clark County street sweeper with a newer vehicle. The grant is part of the EPA’s $30 million national campaign to reduce harmful diesel exhaust.
