    • Dennis Williams

      Dennis (Denny) Williams is regional president for Meadows Bank’s new Loan Production Office in Reno. A veteran Reno banker, Williams will coordinate the bank’s expansion into northern Nevada.

    • Barbara Henry of Allstate Insurance & Financial Services Agency has received the Premier Service Agency Award, given to Allstate Agencies that meet or exceed customer service guidelines, growth and retention goals and customer loyalty indexes.

    • Mary Hengst

      Mary Hengst is administrative assistant at THOMAD Engineering, a firm specializing in professional structural engineering, design and consulting services. She has been with the firm for almost five years.

    • Alma Vasquez is assistant vice president and director of leasing and brokerage for the north submarket for Harsch Investment Properties’ Las Vegas region. A 10-year Harsch employee, she has most recently worked in property management for the firm.

    • Barry Nahin, M.D., is a physician and Rama Harouni, M.D., is director of women’s health for K | E Medical Group, a comprehensive multispecialty setting. Nahin is board-certified in family practice. From 1993 to 2011, he worked in private practice at Family Health Center in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. While there, he was listed among local “Top Physicians” in lists published by both The Washingtonian Magazine and Consumer Checkbook. He received a Patient’s Choice Award in 2008-2011. Harouni has been in private practice in Southern Nevada since 2008. She was instrumental in the development of the Women’s Health Program at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and American Board of Internal Medicine.

      Jacqueline Matthew is senior accountant at Houldsworth, Russo & Co. She joined the firm as an accountant two years ago.

    • Walter Higgins III is the new president and CEO of the Ascendant Group Limited. He is the former CEO of Sierra Pacific Resources, now known as NV Energy. He has extensive experience in the utility industry.

      Fred Keeton, vice president of finance, external affairs and chief diversity officer for Caesars Entertainment Corporation, received a Señores of Distinction awards from the Latin Chamber of Commerce at its recognition program. Keeton was selected for his support of the Latin business community.

      Michael Buckley of the law firm Jones Vargas has been listed in the “2012 Top Rated Lawyers Annual Guide to Corporate Real Estate Law,” published in the June issue of The American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel. He leads the firm’s business and real estate transactions practice group and has been a member of the firm since 1978.

He is a graduate of the Boyd School of Law at UNLV and has a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University.

    • The ONE Group, a New York-based hospitality company, has announced a partnership with the Palms to open Heraea, a sports-themed restaurant and lounge. The venue will take over the space previously occupied by Garduño’s, and will offer food, sports viewing and music. The establishment is projected to open by the end of 2012.

    • MountainView Hospital held a topping-off ceremony May 17, celebrating the placement of the final steel beam atop the new emergency room and patient tower, which were part of a $60 million expansion project.

    • Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace has been recognized as one of the “Top 100 Resort Spas” in the U.S. mainland category in a readers’ poll by the luxury travel publication Condé Nast Traveler. Readers rated spas on their facilities, staff and treatments.

    • Steljes Healthy Heart Sleep Facility recently has received program accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. To receive a five-year accreditation, a sleep center must meet the academy’s standards for health care.

    • An annual research report that rates the nation’s residential firms has listed Nevada’s Prudential Americana Group among the top three fastest growing real estate companies. The Prudential franchise is listed third in the publication’s “Top 50 Movers By Transaction.” The company had a 39.1 percent increase in transactions over the previous year.
