    • The Nevada district office of the U.S. Small Business Administration will recognize its 2012 small business award honorees at a reception May 23 at Vegas PBS. Chosen as SBA’s Small Business Persons of the Year are founder and CEO Nancy Munoz, President Leah Munoz and secretary Rachel Drenk, all of Specialty Vehicles in Henderson. They also will be recognized during National Small Business Week activities May 20-26 in Washington, D.C. Other awards and recipients: Microenterprise Business Person of the Year — Jane C. Lee, Jadon Foods, Las Vegas; Minority Small Business Champion of the Year — Paula and Sylvester Jackson, Large Vision Business Network Mixer, Las Vegas; Women in Business Champion of the Year — Kimberly Gyuran-Miles, the Payroll Company, Las Vegas; Home-Based Business Champion of the Year — William Robert James, A To Z Improvements, Las Vegas; and Michael Graham Entrepreneurial Spirit Award — Valerie Miller, small business writer, reporter and journalist, Las Vegas.

    • Jordan Smith

      Jordan Smith is an associate attorney at the law firm of Pisanelli Bice, specializing in commercial litigation, appellate litigation, hotels and gaming. He previously worked in the Las Vegas offices of McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte & Carruth.

    • Nicole Mehlhaff is senior catering sales manager, Dale Hambleton is director of slot operations and Sam Garritano is director of table games for the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa. Mehlhaff most recently worked in sales at the Platinum Hotel and brings more than seven years of hospitality experience to the position. Hambleton has more than 20 years of senior level management experience in slot operations and game analysis. Garritano has 18 years of experience in the gaming industry.

      Cody Craft is a junior designer and Charlene Brewer is a traffic manager/producer for the Glenn Group, an advertising, interactive and public relations agency.

    • Cynthia Holland

      Cynthia Holland, a senior property manager with Gatski Commercial Real Estate Services, has earned the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management, an international professional association.

    • Brian Dziminski, president and attorney at Dziminski & Associates, is a member of the board of directors at Goodwill of Southern Nevada.

    • Jason VanMeetren

      Jason VanMeetren is an associate attorney practicing in corporate litigation, personal injury and transactional and family law at the firm of Jolley Urga Wirth Woodbury & Standish Attorneys at Law. He previously was a law clerk for the firm.

    • Janice Pieri is a senior human resource consultant with Prism Global Management Group.

    • Tony Amato is a principal and retail specialist, Michael LaBar is a principal and multifamily specialist, Debra Sinclair is director of property management services and Dave Dworkin is operations manager for the real estate brokerage operations of Avison Young in Las Vegas.

      Cynthia Carbajal is art director for Imagine Communications, a marketing and communications firm. Before joining the company just over a year ago, Carbajal was a graphic designer for MGM Resorts International.

    • Mary Beth Hartleb, CEO of Prism Global Management Group, LLC, is a member of the Nevada Micro-Enterprise Business Initiative board of directors.

    • Joseph Ferreira

      Joseph Ferreira is executive director of the Nevada Donor Network. He previously was director of clinical operations at Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency in Miami, Fla. He is certified in all aspects of the organ donation and recovery process.

    • Angela Dwinell is president, Debra Burgos is vice president, Adrianne Buyer is secretary and Alice O’Hearn is treasurer of the Las Vegas Chapter of Association of Legal Administrators. Recently elected directors are Jeana Hart, Vikki Ralev, Mary Williams and Barbara Yamamoto.

    • Blake Chappell

      Blake Chappell is assistant project superintendent for McCarthy Building Companies. He previously was a project engineer in the company’s Las Vegas office.

    • Adrianne Offerman is a public relations specialist and Morgan Waldron is an interactive marketing manager with Vox Solid Communications, a Las Vegas-based public relations and social media agency. Offerman previously was with Kirvin Doak Communications, where she worked in public relations. Waldron most recently was with Beso Steakhouse and Eve Nightclub as interactive marketing director.
