Las Vegas’ ‘What happens here, stays here’ slogan nominated for advertising Walk of Fame

Las Vegas' iconic "What happens here, stays here" slogan has been nominated as one of the best advertising catchphrases of all time.

The motto is among this year's contenders for induction into the Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame, the advertising industry's equivalent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Winning slogans earn a permanent plaque on Madison Avenue between 42nd and 50th streets.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority began using the "What happens here" slogan in 2004. It was created by R&R Partners and has won numerous awards.

Inductees will be chosen based on a national vote. To make a pick, click here. Voting begins today and closes at midnight Sept. 30.

Past inductees have included Wendy's "Where's the beef?" and M&M's "Melts in your mouth, not in your hand."

Las Vegas' slogan is up against stiff competition this year, including American Express' "Don't leave home without it," DeBeers' "A diamond is forever," Klondike's "What would you do for a Klondike bar" and the U.S. Army's "Be all that you can be."
