Thomas Schoeman
Thomas J. Schoeman, president of JMA Architecture Studios, has retired from the firm after 32 years. Schoeman is a past president of the Las Vegas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, and received the AIA Nevada Silver Medal in 1998. JMA has been the recipient of numerous AIA design and industry awards during Schoeman’s career.

Kevin Burke
Gov. Brian Sandoval has announced the reappointments of Southern Nevadans Kevin Burke, Nathaniel “Nat” Hodgson III and Guys Wells to the Nevada State Contractors Board. Northern Nevadan Margaret Cavin is a new board appointee.
Burke is the board’s current chairman. He is president and chief executive officer of Burke Construction Group Inc., and is a licensed general engineering and general building contractor. Hodgson is the member and qualified individual of Green Serenity LLC, and a past president of the Southern Nevada Home Builders Assn. Wells is president and chief executive officer of Wells Cargo Inc. and is a licensed general engineering and general building contractor. Cavin is the co-founder of J & J Mechanical Inc. of Reno.

Joanna Myers
Joanna M. Myers has joined Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck as an associate with the corporate and business group. Her practice focuses on intellectual property.

Dennis Gradillas
Dennis Gradillas is the new executive director for Las Ventanas, a continuing care retirement community in Summerlin. He previously served as general manager for the Platinum Hotel in Las Vegas.

Zachary Takos
Zachary P. Takos is a new associate at the law firm of Greene Infuso, a Las Vegas commercial bankruptcy, litigation and personal injury firm.
Dennis Kennedy
Dennis L. Kennedy, a partner in the law firm Bailey Kennedy LLP, has been named “Health Care Law Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers, a peer-review publication in the legal profession. Kennedy was cited for both “Bet-The-Company” litigation and commercial litigation. His partner, John R. Bailey, is listed for his work in health care law.
Athena Awards
The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada has announced the recipients of its annual Athena Awards winners, who will be honored at a Dec. 9 luncheon. The recipient for leadership is Jan Jones, senior vice president of communications and government relations for Caesars Entertainment; for young professional leadership: Chandler Marrs, Ph.D., founder and CEO of Lucine Biotechnology, Inc.; for organizational leadership: Foundation for Positively Kids, and its founder and CEO Fred Schultz.

Cristine Lindholm
Cristine Lindholm is the new institutional development director for Vegas PBS. She will be responsible for leading the sponsorship team in developing corporate and institutional support for the station. She most recently was a sales manager for KLAS-TV.
Rachel Stevens
Rachel Stevens is a new analyst for Applied Analysis, a Southern Nevada advisory services firm. She will be responsible for market research and data collection efforts, with a focus on real estate and land-related issues.




Robert Anderson
Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation has selected its executive committee and a director of development. Robert Anderson, a partner with the law firm Holland & Hart, is the new president of the board. Named as secretary is Kelley Jones of Trust3 Hospitality. Fran Mansfield of MGM Resorts International continues as vice president and Ty Anderson of Swarts & Swarts Certified Public Accountants remains as treasurer. Leslie Jones, former board secretary, has been appointed director of development.
Valerie Glenn
Glenn Group CEO Valerie Glenn and director of account service Kelly Glenn attended the 2011 International Women’s Forum World Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. The theme of this year’s conference was “Balance and Power in the 21st Century.” More than 800 members from 40 countries attended. The Glenn Group is a full-service marketing communications firm with offices in Las Vegas and Reno.
