Las Vegas Hilton may be getting ready to change its name

The Las Vegas Hilton may soon have a new name: “LVH” or “LVH Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.”
The property’s owner, Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions LLC, on Sept. 28 filed federal trademark applications to exclusively use one or both of those names.
The applications say the marks would cover hotel, restaurant, lounge and bar services; arena services including providing facilities for sports, concerts, conventions, and exhibitions; casinos and casino gaming; wagering services and entertainment in the form of live performances by bands.
For reasons that haven’t been disclosed, the property on Jan. 1 may lose its right to use the Hilton name unless a deal is worked out with Hilton Worldwide, which owns and licenses the name.
A request for comment on the possible new name was placed with the Hilton’s owner.
The possible name change is just one challenge facing the property.
Its lender is trying to foreclose on the Hilton, and a lawsuit is under way in which the 2,950-room Paradise Road property is contesting that action.

Another failure. Make it into a VET school. Or u can make it into the official reelection office of BO.
The best they could think of was Las Vegas Hotel and Casino? Who's in charge of marketing for goodness sake? I understand keeping the initials the same they won't have to change a lot, but go big or go home. This is just a slow demise of a sub-par hotel not even worth watching.
They should re-name it back to the 'Whyte House' :)
This would be a great opportunity to reintroduce its former name, the International.
That's just lazy and weak! They ought to embrace their heritage and call themselves "the International".
Colony ran that place into the ground. Hilton doesn't want to lend their name to a failure.
Unfortunately Colony also runs Station casinos...
Well, whatever they call it - best of luck to them. I'd like to see it work out. It's good for all of us if they make it work.
This place has poor service, run-down facilities, horrible rooms and a staff full of bad attitudes in my experience. They'll need a whole lot more than a name change to fix their issues. There is a reason Hilton took their franchise away. They suck.
