Caesars receives awards for sustainability initiatives

Conservation efforts by Caesars Entertainment Corp. have led to rewards for the company in more ways that one.

Caesars, which says its environmental initiatives yield $20 million in savings annually, recently was named the recipient of sustainability awards from three organizations.

On Nov. 16, Nevada EcoNet and greenUP! will present Caesars Entertainment Northern Nevada with a 2011 Golden Pinecone environmental award, recognizing preservation and enhancement efforts.

In addition, Caesars recently was named one of five honorees in the 2011 Water Hero Awards from the Water Conservation Coalition.

In England, the Green Organisation presented its Green Apple Award to London Clubs International, part of Caesars, for a tree donation program.

St. Rose, KE Centers collaborate

St. Rose Dominican Hospitals and KE Centers for Advanced Medicine have formed a partnership to offer personalized executive physical examinations. The KE Executive Physical is a medical exam that will assess the health risk of each patient, identify problems and work to mitigate risks. The physicals will be conducted in a new clinic space adjacent to St. Rose’s San Martín Campus, and will offer a full range of personalized care in a single setting.

Business Licensing office moves

The Las Vegas Business Licensing Division has moved to the Development Services Center building at 333 N. Rancho Drive, with the main business office on the sixth floor. The DSC is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

DBG growth again cited

Digital Blue Global, a Las Vegas-based agency that produces live corporate events, has for the third consecutive year been rated as one of the fastest-growing companies in America by INC Magazine. DBG produces shows and events for a wide range of companies, with an emphasis on planning, implementation and clever event architecture. Its founders met in the military, where they were assigned in multimedia production.

LCC gala, installation coming up

Combining two events, the Latin Chamber of Commerce will install its 2012 board of directors and hold its annual awards gala Dec. 9 at Paris Las Vegas. Deadline for award nominations is Nov. 17. More information on the nomination process is available through the Latin Chamber.

Public Education Foundation elects board of directors

The Public Education Foundation’s board of directors held elections at its annual meeting Oct. 27. Officers re-elected for 2011-2013 are Sig Rogich, chairman of the board; Robert L. Forbuss, senior vice chair; Randall J. Campanale, CFA, vice chair of finance; Christina Mamer, vice chair of development; Steve Forsythe, vice chair of community relations; Ann Lynch, secretary; and, Dean Walker, CPA, treasurer. New board members are Nevada State Sen. Barbara Cegavske, R-Las Vegas; Mary Beth Donnelly, vice president of government relations for Newmont Mining Corp.; and Doretha Easler, community relations manager for NV Energy.

Trosper principal honored by Henderson mayor

Trosper Communications, LLC, held its one-year anniversary “client appreciation bash” Oct. 20. At the event, principal Liz Trosper was presented with a proclamation congratulating her on her achievements by Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen.
