Conference looking at local housing market

The UNLV Center for Business and Economic Research will focus on the Las Vegas housing industry in its mid-year conference June 20.
The conference also addresses the Southern Nevada and US economic conditions and provides a forecast through the end of the year.
The program runs from just after 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Palazzo Ballroom in the Venetian.
Stephen Brown, the center’s director, will provide an update on local and national economic trends.
Nasser Daneshvary, director of the UNLV Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies, will moderate a panel focusing on the region’s housing industry. The panelists include appraiser Michael Brunson; Pierre LaPres, senior vice president with Cornerstone Home Lending; Frank Nason, a broker with Residential Resources Inc.; John Restrepo, principal of Restrepo Consulting and Dennis Smith, president of Home Builders Research.
Brown will give the economic outlook from 8:15 to 9:05 a.m. and the housing panel will run from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
