The Cosmopolitan is opening a “Pop-Up Wedding Chapel” where people can get married on the fly and tourists can gawk at the nuptials.

Las Vegas is home to Elvis weddings, gondola weddings and roller coaster weddings. Now, add pop-up weddings to the list.
The Cosmopolitan announced it would debut a “Pop-Up Wedding Chapel” next week where people can get married on the fly and tourists can gawk at the nuptials. The chapel, adorned in a wall of oversized windows, will be located next to the resort’s Strip entrance with clear views from Las Vegas Boulevard.
It “is a new twist on a Las Vegas tradition: the impromptu wedding,” Cosmopolitan Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Marchese said. “Whether you want to come in and renew your vows, get hitched or even just try marriage on for 24 hours with a faux ceremony, it will undoubtedly be a memorable experience for both the participants and those just watching.”
The chapel, which opens Dec. 28, will offer traditional marriage ceremonies, vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, faux weddings and even pet weddings. Each ceremony will run about 20 minutes and include champagne and two oversized pink eraser rings dispensed from a gumball machine.
Three wedding packages are offered — the “Hitched in a Hurry,” “On a Whim” and “Going to the Chapel” — and range in price from $80 to $195. Couples can add music, receptions, party favors, flowers or photos for an additional price. Legally binding ceremonies cost an extra $90.
A retail shop will sell wedding bands, announcements and celebratory adult beverages, and a photo booth will transmit instant pictures to Facebook and Twitter.

You are correct, but it is especially insane in this state given how much money is generated by the marriage trade here.
