      Brien Pidgeon is managing director of the Las Vegas office of CBRE Group Inc. He previously was president of Lawyers Title Insurance Corp. of Nevada.

    • Debbie Primack of Prudential American Group has been named Realtor of the Year by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. A 25-year member of GLVAR, she received the association’s top award at its installation meeting in November. The association’s longtime CEO, Irene Vogel, who is retiring at the end of 2011, received the Frank Sala Award, which recognizes long-term commitment to grass-roots political action and to protecting private property rights.

      Other award winners were Marvin Rubin, of Today’s Realty, who received the Gene Nebeker Memorial Award for professionalism and service to the GLVAR and the community; and Teri Brenkus, of Keller Williams Marketplace, who received the Ronn Reiss Award for educational excellence and leadership.

      Inducted into the GLVAR Hall of Fame were 2011 GLVAR President Paul Bell of Prudential American Group, Deirdre Felgar of Realty America, and David Boyer of Prudential American Group.

    • Kelley Cozzolino of Bigelow Interiors was recognized by Las Vegas Design Center as the winner of its inaugural Design of the Year award for her remodel of a cottage in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif. The award was created to recognize excellence in design among Southern Nevada interior designers and students.

      Joe Kupiec

      Joseph E. Kupiec has been named principal and managing director of the new Las Vegas office of Avison Young, a Canada-based company. Kupiec had been executive vice-president and managing director of Grubb & Ellis in Las Vegas since 2002. Avison Young now has 25 offices and more than 800 real estate professionals across Canada and the U.S. The Las Vegas office is its ninth location outside Canada, and will be located in the Hughes Center.

    • Matthew Landry is managing director of Gaming Market Advisors, a gaming consulting firm with offices in Las Vegas and Denver. He has extensive experience in both domestic and international markets.

      Jeffrey L. Nelson is Urban Environmental Research’s director of homeland security/public safety. Nelson manages all assessments of critical infrastructure for Silver Shield, Nevada’s state critical infrastructure protection plan.

    • Debi Kinney will serve as the first president of the new Las Vegas Chapter of the Green Meeting Industry Council. The nonprofit organization’s mission is to foster corporate social responsibility initiatives and focuses on sustainability in the meetings and events industry.

      Giorgio Ferrero is general manager of Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar. He previously worked at Valentino.

    • David W. Grimes is president, Pamela Joy Ring is vice president and William J. Stieren is treasurer of the Nevada Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.

    • Dianne L. DeMille, Ph.D., has received the 2010/2011 Woman of the Year award from the National Association of Professional Women. She was honored for her work with Global-Educational-Technologies Inc., which develops educational initiatives for low-income and underprivileged communities, with a focus on women, minorities and individuals with special needs.

      Carrie Henderson is president, Nazanin Ford vice president, Kelly Petersen treasurer and Tami Hance secretary of Nevada Women’s Philanthropy. Henderson is a founding member of the organization, which was created in 2006, and is president of BEST Agency.

    • Lisa Brown of Nevada Title Co. has been appointed chairwoman of the Clark County School District School-Community Partnership Advisory Council. She will be working with the partnership office to further the council’s mission of connecting business and community resources with school resources.
