USAA Bank donates $20,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters

January 17, 2013. For immediate release.

(Las Vegas, NV). Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada has received a $20,000 grant from USAA Savings Bank in support of its three expanding mentoring programs across the Las Vegas valley.

"This school year, we have expanded our afternoon and after-school site-based mentoring programs and we continue to receive applications for our community-based and specialized foster youth programs,” according to Molly Latham, Chief Executive Officer. "As we grow, our need for mentors increases and our need for strong corporate support also increases. The need is great and just keeps growing. Kids are waiting. USAA Savings Bank’s generous grant builds our capacity to be more successful. We are so thankful for this generous support."

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada hopes to surpass its present capacity of 408 mentoring matches this year. Volunteer-driven and donor-supported, Big Brothers Big Sisters is a nonprofit agency offering three programs: site-based mentoring, community-based mentoring and the new DREAMR Project providing specialized mentoring to teenagers in foster care.
