Trish Durden is an art director and Juliet Casey, Lenora Kaplan and James Stover are senior-level public relations executives at B&P Advertising, Media and Public Relations. Durden previously worked as a senior designer at MGM Resorts International and the Mirage. Casey previously worked as a public information officer for North Las Vegas. Kaplan ran a marketing consulting firm, and Stover worked locally in public relations.

Richard Hy and Michael McNerny are attorneys at Kolesar and Leatham. Hy joins the firm’s civil litigation practice with an emphasis in insurance defense, commercial disputes and construction law. McNerny is an associate in the firm’s real estate department focused on real estate transactions, land use and zoning, gaming and government law.

John Krieger is a shareholder at Gordon Silver. He is a member of the Internet gaming and intellectual property, entertainment and sports groups.

Allison Loftus is chief development officer of Communities in Schools of Nevada. She previously was a corporate support account executive at Vegas PBS. Loftus has more than 20 years of fundraising, sales and marketing experience.

Laura Carroll is an account executive at the Ferraro Group, a public relations and public affairs firm. She previously worked as a reporter for Stephens Media Group.

Barbara Atkinson is the planning dean for the UNLV School of Medicine. Atkinson previously was an emeritus vice chancellor and professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

Gary Costa is executive director of Golden Rainbow. Costa previously worked at the Center OC’s AIDS Response Program in California and was executive director of Being Alive — People with HIV/AIDS Action Coalition.

Mary Bacon is an associate at Fennemore Craig Jones Vargas. She will practice in the area of business litigation. Bacon previously was a legal recruiter and clerked for USIS/Labat in Washington, D.C.

Bruce Alverson, a managing partner at Alverson, Taylor, Mortensen and Sanders, was appointed chairman of the National Moot Court competition committee by the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Maggie Ozan Rafferty, chief experience officer for Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, was published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research. The article, “In the Words of the Medical Tourist: An Analysis of Internet Narratives by Health Travelers to Turkey,” explains medical tourism through the words of travelers.

Julie Goe is a sales representative at Members Auto Brokerage, a subsidiary of the Clark County Credit Union. She previously worked in the credit union’s loan department.

The Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada elected its executive board of officers. Rusty McAllister was re-elected president, Scott Gorgon was re-elected secretary-treasurer, John Bellona was re-elected vice president, Dean Fletcher was re-elected southern district vice president and Bryon Hunt was elected northern district vice president.

James Patrick Shea, a partner in Armstrong Teasdale’s financial and real estate services practice group, is president-elect of the American Bankruptcy Institute. Shea will begin a one-year term in 2015. He is ABI’s Civility Task Force chairman and is an advisory member of the newly-formed State Bar of Nevada’s Civility Task Force.

Dr. Robert “Bobby” Moore joined Aliante Integrated Physical Medicine. He is working on an Advanced Fellowship in Clinical Biomechanics through Chiropractic Biophysics.

Nancy Flagg opened Finishing Touches Project Management, which provides copy-editing, proofreading, technical writing and project management services for corporate, nonprofit and higher education clients. She recently retired from a 38-year administrative career at UNLV.

Quentin Wilson is director of marketing for Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop. He has a decade of marketing experience and previously worked for Raising Cane’s and McDonald’s.

Chase Boberg, Lance Evans and Emily Jillette joined the executive committee of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Boberg oversees hotel and corporate partnerships for Las Vegas Events, Evans serves as head of strategic partnership marketing for MGM Resorts International and Jillette is a local philanthropist. They join returning board members Bob Andrews, Brett Burke, Julian Dugas, Vance Farrow, Mark Lefever, Terri Maruca, Lisa Motley, Bobby Reynolds, Lee Smith and Steve Stallworth.

Ivonne Storlazzi is an underwriter at the Clark County Credit Union.

Pivotal Communications principal Stan Friedman won the “Corporate Branding Campaign of the Year” award for Sabra Dipping Company at the 2014 PR Week Awards.
