Union Village and the Valley Health System broke ground on one of the world’s first integrated health villages. Called Union Village, the $1.2 billion project will offer a hospital complex and health center, residential, entertainment and specialty retail space, a retirement community and a civic and cultural arts center.

Henderson is among the nation’s best cities to live in, according to a study released by 24/7 Wall St., a financial news and opinion publication. Henderson ranked 27th and is the only city in Nevada to be listed in the top 50.

Skyline Exhibits is the Gold winner for Minnesota Business magazine’s Minnesota Manufacturer of the Year, Best in Class: Large Company. The award recognizes overall excellence in the manufacturing industry in Minnesota. Skyline, which produces exhibits for trade shows, has an office in Las Vegas.

Nevada State Bank customers are now able to deposit checks using a mobile check deposit feature, available from iTunes or the Google Play Store.

The Nevada 8th Judicial District Court unveiled a court wall of history project at the Regional Justice Center on the 16th floor at 200 Lewis Ave. The project includes 95 portraits of District Court judges dating to the inception of the court in 1910.

Boyd Gaming has launched B Connected Sports, a sports betting app available on iOS devices through the iTunes Store and on Android devices.

The League of American Bicyclists awarded the Southern Nevada Water Authority a Silver Business designation in support of the SNWA’s efforts to encourage greater employee use of bicycles in their daily commutes. The designation comes as SNWA and Las Vegas Valley Water District employees have currently pedaled their way into eighth place nationally and second place locally in the National Bike Challenge.

The Perch has opened on the second floor of the Downtown Container Park. It’s the Container Park’s first full-service restaurant.

The Desert Research Institute and the Nevada Center of Excellence are partnering with China’s Hohai University to address global water pollution and supply issues. The collaboration will develop a joint international laboratory that will facilitate faculty and student exchanges, water resources management and training, and water pollution monitoring and mitigation.
