MGM Resorts International for the third consecutive year has been listed among Newsweek Magazine’s 500 most environmentally responsible companies. It moved up 35 places to No. 122. MGM Resorts also was the highest-ranking company in the casino-resort industry. It also was ranked as the third most highly rated U.S. hotel and restaurant company.
Caesars Entertainment’s Las Vegas-based social media team recently won several awards for the relaunch of the company’s Total Rewards loyalty program. Social Sherpa and Global Gaming Business magazine presented Caesars a Sherpie award for “Best in Show” at the recent Global Gaming Expo and a second award a day later during a luncheon hosted by the American Gaming Association. The team also received an AGA Communications Gaming Voice award for “Best Social Media Program” for the same promotion.
Legacy, Health and Wellness, a behavioral and mental health agency, recently opened in Las Vegas. Legacy offers individual, family and group therapy; alternative teen groups; parenting and co-parenting groups; psychosocial rehabilitative services; basic skills training; substance abuse counseling; family reunification support services; family preservation; crisis intervention services; and referral and resource services. The Penta Building Group has been selected by the University of California, Los Angeles as general contractor for the UCLA Semel IPCN Renovation Project involving a six-story medical tower on the UCLA campus. The project includes renovating vacant space in the existing tower to accommodate new clinical research infrastructure, investigator offices and an image processing suite.
Three companies have moved to new offices in Sandhill Executive Suites at 6166 Sandhill Road in Las Vegas: Ink Refuge, a web design company from Orange County, Calif.; American Detective, which provides security services to homeowners associations, construction sites and hotels; and Corporate Capital Connection, which provides funding and acquisition services to transportation businesses.
Switch, a data storage company, announced record sales for September. Sales included about 40 new clients and will bring Switch’s SuperNAP facility to 84 percent occupancy.
Commercial Alliance Las Vegas has partnered with Xceligent Inc. to launch a commercial real estate information service Jan. 1 in Southern Nevada.
Wells Fargo approved a record $1.24 billion in Small Business Administration loans during the past federal fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30. The company also has been the country’s leading SBA 7(a) lender in dollar volume for the past four years. The past year also was the second consecutive year that Wells Fargo approved more than $1 billion in SBA 7(a) loans to small business owners.
Harsch Investment Properties awarded its Paradise Airport Center listing to the David Scherer Group at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. The property, near McCarran International Airport and the Strip, includes available units from 6,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet.
MountainView Hospital has announced a $9.5 million expansion to its new patient tower. A 32-bed medical and surgical unit will be built on the third floor. It is slated to open in 2013. The project comes in addition to the hospital’s $68 million ongoing expansion.
Caesars Entertainment’s beverage ordering system, the Beverage iApp/Team Service, has been awarded an InformationWeek 500 Award for Innovation. A technology publication, InformationWeek sponsors annual awards to recognize the country’s 500 most innovative users of business technology.
