Casino supply company exec countersues former employer

A Las Vegas casino supply company executive accused of misappropriating trade secrets has countersued his former employer.

Gaming Partners International (GPI) filed suit last week against former sales executive Justin Woodard.

Gaming Partners, which sells items such as dice, gaming chips and playing cards, demanded in the suit that in his new job Woodard be ordered not to contact GPI customers or use GPI’s confidential information he learned while working there.

Woodard filed his own suit on Tuesday against GPI in Clark County District Court claiming GPI failed to pay him all the commissions and severance he is owed.

The suit also claims GPI CEO Gregory Gronau made “false and defamatory statements” about Woodard to Woodard’s new boss at Genesis Interactive Technologies in Spring, Texas.

GPI hasn’t yet responded to those allegations.
