Baccarat players have a new pit to play in.

The Golden Nugget has opened a baccarat pit downtown, located just past the casino’s Rush Tower lobby and valet entrance.

The pit has four tables — enough room for 32 players — flanked by three 60-inch televisions and a seating lounge not too far from Red Sushi, a traditional Japanese restaurant.

Players can order food from their tables while they play.

To celebrate the pit’s opening, the Golden Nugget is hosting the $30,000 Grand Opening Mini-Baccarat Invitational, scheduled for May 15–18.

Company officials say players can call the casino to see how to qualify for the tournament.

“We’re so excited to bring this new gaming amenity to our guests,” said Jason Sides, director of casino operations, in a release. “This new baccarat pit has both the luxury feel that will appeal to our destination guests and the convenience factor that should bring in the local players.”
