Paint-your-own-pottery studio opens, art gallery relocates in Las Vegas

Art enthusiasts in the Las Vegas Valley received a couple extra gifts this holiday season in the form of business openings.

Splash Studios LLC, a paint-your-own pottery establishment with attractions for families, held its grand opening Dec. 6 in the southwest valley. Centaur Art Gallery, which had been a fixture at Fashion Show mall, moved and opened Dec. 31 at 4345 Dean Martin Drive.

Also around the valley, plans are in the works for Rainforest Café to eventually move from MGM Grand to Harmon Corner, a 24-hour salon debuts and 8 Noodle Bar opens at Red Rock Resort.

      Splash Studios LLC, a paint-your-own pottery business, held its grand opening at 9700 W. Tropicana Ave., Suite 105, in Las Vegas.

      Splash Studios not only offers nearly 3,000 square feet of ceramic painting areas, but also has features for children and families: two birthday-party rooms, a game room with air hockey, a lounge with flat-screen TVs and a karaoke stage, according to a news release.

      Splash Studios is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

      Centaur Art Gallery has moved from Fashion Show mall to 4345 Dean Martin Drive, Suite 200, in Las Vegas, after having been at Fashion Show for more than 33 years, according to a news release.

      The gallery hosted its opening day in its new location Dec. 31 with the art of Picasso, Chagall, Dali, Miro, Calder and pop artist Devon, according to the release.

      The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

    • Rainforest Café

      Rainforest Café at MGM Grand is set to eventually move to Harmon Corner, a pair of restaurant employees said.

      One employee said the move was set to happen during the summer, and the other said that it would “eventually” occur.

      Phone messages left with MGM Resorts International public relations and the corporate office at Landry’s, which owns Rainforest Café, were not returned.

      Harmon Corner is at Las Vegas Boulevard and West Harmon Avenue.

      Siegel’s 1941

      The El Cortez's Flame Steakhouse, which closed in August, will eventually be replaced by Siegel’s 1941 restaurant, a spokesperson said.

      El Cortez aims to open Siegel’s 1941 by late spring.

      The resort is at 600 E. Fremont St. in downtown Las Vegas.

      Madame et Monsieur, a 24-hour daily salon and ultra lounge for the entertainment industry, held a grand opening Jan. 10, according to a news release.

      The salon specializes in sculpting and reshaping technology designed to meet clients’ needs, according to the release. Also, guests can enjoy wine and live music before or after treatments.

      Madame et Monsieur is open 24-7 at 3355 Highland Ave., Suite 108.

      8 Noodle Bar

      8 Noodle Bar opened in mid-December at Red Rock Resort.

      The restaurant serves lunch and dinner and features an Asian fusion menu.

      8 Noodle Bar is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday.

      Red Rock Resort is at 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., Summerlin.
