Describe your business.

NevadaPowerLaw.com is an interactive do-it-yourself family law website that allows clients to represent themselves in any type of family law case. Our website walks the client through the process of selecting and preparing the documents necessary for a case, with step-by-step instruction that explains the law and what information is necessary to complete the paperwork. From there, each client gets to meet with one of our professional family law attorneys to ensure that everything has been prepared correctly. We then process, file and serve the documents on the opposing party and can provide ongoing assistance throughout the case.

Who are your customers?

Our clients can be anyone who has a need for family law services. Some of these individuals may not have the ability to retain an attorney for $3,000 to $5,000, and others may simply prefer to save some money and handle the case on their own.

What makes your business unique?

As far as we know, it’s the first service that incorporates do-it-yourself representation with interactive online assistance and professional attorney support.

How much do the services cost?

Our individual products begin at $50. Our complete packages for divorce, custody, adoption, guardianship, and termination of parental rights are priced between $300 and $800 exclusive of county filing fees. These prices include all of the ancillary support services that come with every purchase: 24/7 online access to your account, unlimited staff support, interactive “wizards” to assist you in completing your documents, attorney review of your documents, in-person professional attorney consultation, and notarization, filing and regular service of your documents.

What is your business philosophy?

We want to get the best result possible for our clients based on the facts of the case. We provide individual attention to each client to make sure we can educate the client about the law and intelligently inform each client about the likely outcome of the case. We also take into consideration our client’s financial resources so we can determine how to most effectively and efficiently work toward case resolution within the client’s budget.

What obstacles has your business overcome?

The development of the website was by far the most difficult challenge we’ve faced so far. From start to finish, initial development took approximately one year and hundreds of hours of attorney time. Even now, we continue to take steps to identify components of our service that can be changed or revised to improve the client experience and provide the best possible value and experience for our clients.
