Plumbing problems at the Flamingo have put several parts of the resort on hold.

Officials have closed the food court, several hotel rooms and shows until repairs are made.

"The Flamingo and its construction team are working cooperatively and collaboratively with local agencies as this project progresses," said Gary Thompson, spokesman of Caesars Entertainment, said. "We apologize for the inconvenience to our employees and guests."

The Strip resort's management is now directing visitors to nearby eateries until the work is done, according to Thompson.

Rumors about the closing published on a local blog said the Southern Nevada Heath Department closed the food court. Another rumor pegged the closing to an explosion.

None of that is true, Thompson said.

The plumbing work will close other parts of the Flamingo on the morning of July 15.

That's when the Cabaret Theater, nearby restrooms and X Bar will temporarily close until the the plumbing repairs are finished. Guests originally slated to stay in rooms above the north end of the casino have been rebooked at nearby Caesars resorts.

Performances by comedian Vinnie Favorito and X Burlesque will be temporarily canceled July 15. Box office bosses are now helping guests with ticket refunds and rescheduling.

It is unclear when the plumbing job will be finished.

"We will reopen affected guest service areas as soon as we can," Thompson said.
