Now open: Meatballs headed to the Strip, yogurt to the suburbs

The Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood soon will welcome another tenant to its growing list of shops and restaurants. An Italian restaurant known for its meatballs plans to open this month.

Elsewhere, a downtown casino bar gets a new look, while a popular yogurt company announced plans to add a second shop in Southern Nevada.

    • Meatball Spot is opening soon in the Miracle Mile Shops at the Planet Hollywood. It is the second location in Las Vegas.

      The Meatball Spot is scheduled to open a new location at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood this month. A previous location at Town Square closed earlier this year and was replaced by the Sugar Factory.

      The 1,500-square-foot eatery will serve beef, chicken, turkey and pork meatballs and also offer sandwiches. The restaurant also includes a salad bar with more than 36 offerings.

      It will be open 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.

    • Pinkberry is opening its second location at Boca Park at 540 S. Rampart Blvd. in the first quarter of 2014.

      Pinkberry is scheduled to open its second Las Vegas location early next year in Boca Park Fashion Village, 940 S. Rampart Blvd.

      The Los Angeles-based frozen yogurt chain also has a location at CityCenter.

      If all goes well, the company has its sights set on Henderson for a potential third location, officials said.

      OneBar at the Golden Gate unveiled a new look late last month.

      The bar now features a large LED video screen and performance platform for flair bartenders.

      Owners also added new drinks to the menu, including a 1906 Cocktail, which references the year the Golden Gate opened.

    • America First Credit Union

      America First Credit Union opened its 11th Southern Nevada location Nov. 25 at 1225 W. Craig Road, North Las Vegas.

      It is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

      The branch plans to host an opening celebration Jan. 6.

    • Starbucks

      The Starbucks at 8975 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, is back to being open 24 hours a day after a renovation.

      The coffee shop took over space previously occupied by Sweet Ruby Jane Confections and added more tables and chairs.
