One of Southern Nevada’s busiest streets that's a direct corridor between downtown Las Vegas and McCarran International Airport will be the subject of three public meetings to discuss future transit options.
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada has scheduled meetings Nov. 8, Nov. 13 and Nov. 14 to discuss transportation on Maryland Parkway.
Workshop-style meetings will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cambridge Recreation Center’s Valley of Fire room, 3930 Cambridge St.; Nov. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at John C. Fremont Middle School, 1100 E. St. Louis Ave.; and Nov. 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Bonneville Transit Center, 101 E. Bonneville Ave.
RTC officials say the redevelopment of Maryland Parkway may include a “complete street” design that incorporates pedestrian, bicycle and mass transit features as well as car lanes.
Maryland Parkway, on which 9,500 people travel daily, is viewed as an important transportation corridor because its a direct link between the airport and downtown and is in close proximity to UNLV.
