Pizza Fusion, a South Florida-based franchise with 10 restaurants in four states, announced it is moving into Nevada this spring. The company says it uses organic ingredients, constructs its restaurants in accordance with green building standards and delivers its products in hybrid vehicles, like this one.

A South Florida-based pizza restaurant franchise that bills itself as "fresh, organic and Earth friendly" is expanding to Nevada.

Pizza Fusion, with 10 locations in four states and two more in Saudi Arabia, announced it would enter the Nevada market with an 1,800-square-foot restaurant at 10345 S. Eastern Ave., in Henderson. Plans call for the Henderson site to open this spring, and the company seeks to add 14 more locations in Nevada over the next three years.

The franchise says its menu items — which, in addition to pizza, include salads, sandwiches, wines and beers — are made from organic ingredients. The company uses hybrid vehicles for deliveries and says its restaurants are built according to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification standards. Pizza Fusion's website features images of wind turbines and hybrid cars, and the company's slogan is "Saving the Earth one pizza at a time."

Prices for Pizza Fusion's artisan menu items range from $18 to $29 for a large pizza, with additional toppings and cheeses available at extra charge, and $5 to $12 for salads. Sandwiches are either $9 or $10.

A public relations firm for the chain said operators of the Henderson restaurant hope to have the establishment open by the end of April.
