Attraction themed after Looney Tunes animator opening Thursday
An attraction memorializing Chuck Jones, the creator of such iconic cartoon characters as Wile E. Coyote and Pepe le Pew, is scheduled to open Thursday at Circus Circus, the resort announced.
The Chuck Jones Experience, located at Circus Circus’ Skyrise Tower near its Adventuredome, will feature an animation learning center, a 1930s-style movie theater, a re-creation of Jones’ studio and a display allowing visitors to create their own sound effects and voiceovers.
The 10,000-square-foot center also will house more than 250 pieces of Jones’ animation pieces and artworks on permanent display. It’s touted as the largest collection of original Jones works in existence.
Relatives of Jones are expected to be on hand for the grand opening of the attraction, scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. Jones, who also helped bring to life such other Looney Tunes characters as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, died in 2002.
Ticket prices for the center are $19.95 for adults and $14.95 for visitors ages 5 through 17, those 65 and older, military personnel and students. Nevada residents will receive a $5 discount, and there will be no admission charge for children ages 4 and younger.
